Building a Better Bensalem
Who We Are…
Today is a citizen-run organization, made up of representatives from many segments of the community, whose goal is to prevent adolescent problem behaviors, through the implementation of research based programs. It utilizes the Communities That Care model of community immobilization. The problems behaviors addressed are: Substance Abuse, Delinquency, violence, school dropout and teen pregnancy.
This community-based organization is lead by a Community Prevention Board (CPB).
A Project Coordinator, Co-Chairpersons, and Committee Chairpersons comprise the Executive Board of the CPB, and together, all act as a working governing body.
The Executive Board works to develop ideas, set policies, and made decisions with the consensus of the entire CPB. In addition, there are established Key Leaders, which are community leaders who act as expert consultants to the CPB. The Community Prevention Board consists of the following committees, each with a Chairperson and addressing specific responsibilities.
- The Membership Serviced Committee
- The Risk Assessment Committee
- The Resource Assessment Committee
- The Promising Approaches Committee
- The Evaluation Committee
- Public Relations/Publicity Committee

Our Vision Statement…
The community of Bensalem, comprised of ethical, self-motivated citizens modeling strong personal development and family values, is committed to being safe, culturally active, diverse, benevolent, thriving and business friendly.
About Our Logo…
Because the focus of our organization is on the children in our community, our logo was designed to purposely reflect this. The title banner and puzzle pieces, are being held by the diverse children of our community. The puzzle, which represents Bensalem Township, has each child holding a puzzle piece representing a special social development strategy. These strategies will help the youth of Bensalem prepare to live healthy lifestyles.
